About the position
You will be part of a growing organization driving Perstorp’s strategic agenda of becoming a true specialty chemicals & solutions company. Today we have three main market segments; Resins & Coatings, Engineered Fluids and Animal Nutrition. You’ll find Perstorp’s products everywhere, from your mobile phone to the local dairy farm, representing a complete chain of solutions in organic chemistry, process technology and application development leading high-growth niches such as powder and UV-cured coatings, plasticizers, synthetic lubricants, grain preservation and animal gut health.
Resins & Coatings is Perstorp’s largest market segment representing more than one third of the total business. Within the segment a Business transformation journey has begun - Future focus markets and solution platforms are waiting to be evaluated and selected. In this role, you can have a significant impact in shaping our future direction in the Resins & Coatings segment, and in further expanding our Business Development and Innovation capabilities, as well as in developing our organization.

What you will do?
The Business Developer is responsible for identifying, evaluating and driving strategic developments in the Resins & Coatings segment, to enhance Perstorp’s offer. You will use your technical and commercial skills to develop our offering within the segment.
You will;
- Map markets and structure market- and business insights
- Understand and proactively address sustainability trends and needs.
- Think sustainable solution: - Identify, qualify and quantify new business opportunities along the segment value chain: product and service offerings, new business models, etc.
- Support the development of the full offer to the segment and segment strategy
- Develop customer relations and opportunities, supported by Business Development Directors and Innovation when needed / relevant.
- Scope new innovation projects, monitor and secure progress throughout the innovation funnel
- Develop go-to-market plans together with Global Marketing
- Proactively monitor regulations, trends and competitors in the segment.
- Support the launch of new products and oversee the implementation in Sales & Business Management
Who are we looking for?
- Technical education in related areas (e.g., Polymers, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, etc.).
- Experience from preferably a combination of technical sales and technical roles.
- Deep understanding and network in relevant value chains (covering trends, challenges and unmet needs).
- Able to work with both technical and commercial areas with our potential customers.
- Fluent in English.
- Willing to travel to build relationships with potential customers and to develop opportunities.
As a person you have a strong drive and a can-do mentality, you enjoy challenging yourself and to influence. You have great communications skills and finds it easy to build relationships across and outside of the organization.
Other information
This is a permanent position either based at our HQ in Malmö, Sweden or home office in Europe within close proximity to an international airport.
Traveling is a natural part of this position we expect about 40 to 50% of your time meeting customers F2F.
