Job Description
In Category Food Logistics Services, we secure storage, handling, and delivery of IKEA Food products in an integrated, automated, and modern supply chain that safely reaches the many people. Always with the lowest cost, highest quality and a positive impact on people and planet.
At IKEA, we onboard our service providers as partners with whom we create long-term relationships. We want them to grow with us, become more efficient, achieving affordable prices without compromising on sustainability.
As Business Developer, you will be responsible to source and manage the relationships with our cold chain logistics service providers in a certain region. You will work closely with your colleagues, responsible for the operational, quality and sustainability and compliance aspects, to continuously develop our food logistics capacities and service levels.
As an expert in the local markets under your responsibility, and with understanding of the total supply chain, you will support the development of our service providers’ performance and build long term business relations.
A few perks of being one of us:
• We believe in you! You get the privilege and the responsibility to lead your assignment in a diverse team and partner with world-class service providers, while finding innovative ways to drive the business for IKEA.
• We grow with you! In regular conversations with your manager, you can explore your development and career opportunities, and we will support you on the way. We embrace making mistakes and learning from them. For us, at IKEA, that is the best way.
• We develop together with our partners! We are good listeners, and we build relationships. We are committed to helping our partners grow and develop their full potential together with us.
About the assignment
This position is full time and is based in our office in Älmhult. You will report to Business Development Manager, Category Food Logistics Services, Supply Chain Operations. It requires travelling up to 30-50% of time.
At IKEA, we believe that we’re better when we’re physically together for collaboration, dialogues, and conversations. We believe in the power of human interactions; the informal chats, the energy, belonging, and creativity generated by people being in the same place. Our approach is that we spend most of our time in the IKEA workplace, with the flexibility to work from home.
Qualifications
We are looking for you, the curious business developer, who gets energy from influencing, interacting, and working together with others to deliver great business results.
Ideally you graduated from a university that gave you a good base to understand supply chain. Professionally, you have already been exposed to the complexity of global sourcing and logistics for some years. You have an interest in logistics and in discovering the latest technologies in supply chain.
As a person, you see yourself as a leader, ready to take end to end ownership of the procurement process. You are entrepreneurial, open to new ideas and possibilities. Constantly seeking business opportunities and finding ways to bring them to life with people and through people. You are both emphatic and persuasive. You communicate and present in English with ease and you’re able negotiate win-win solutions. You know economics and finance and can work with cash-flows, profit & loss and cost-breakdowns. You are a world citizen, ready to travel and meet across cultures and time-zones.

At IKEA, we do things a little different. We think differently, act differently, and work differently as well. We like to break things, like rules. More so we like to make things, like music-playing lamps, and beds disguised as sofas, even plantballs that help us look after our planet. It’s all part of our vision - to create a better everyday life for the many. This has been keeping our co-workers going for over 75 years. By 2030, we hope to help millions more to look forward to going home. Maybe you can help us?
At IKEA Supply we are responsible for securing that the product offer is produced and delivered to our customers.
