Arbetsbeskrivning
We are developing an assay technology with the power of radically improving cancer diagnostic. In this role you will establish and manage commercial and development projects in collaboration with existing and future customers and partners. We promise you responsibility, a teamwork culture, a fast-paced environment and an exciting journey.
About the role
Rarity is commercializing a new assay technology for mutation detection, currently offered as research service and soon also in a kit format for research purposes, and eventually also as IVD products. In this role you will be shouldering great responsibility identifying and pursuing business opportunities. You will be involved in identifying and building relationships with potential clients in the pharma industry and collaborative partners in the academic landscape. Sometimes the end result will be sales of an assay service project or a kit, and sometimes you will be contributing to designing and managing a collaborative project.
This will be a versatile role including areas, such as business development, product management, sales and marketing. Days will differ, sometimes you will know exactly what to do, sometimes you will be clueless. In other words, it will be a fun roller coaster ride and all of us need to get our hands dirty, but you will never be alone. We are a small and agile team working from Uppsala, but rapidly growing with new opportunities.
Work tasks:
• Stay abreast of academic, clinical and industry trends, market conditions, and competitive landscape to identify new opportunities, potential clients and markets for business expansion.
• Establish and cultivate relationships with existing and potential clients and collaborative partners. Understand their business needs, provide relevant solutions, and maintain regular communication to ensure client satisfaction.
• Project life cycle management. Being involved in designing, planning, leading, executing and reporting projects.
• Provide relevant input, and support execution of marketing plan and communication activities.
Your profile
To be successful in this role, you need to be dedicated, savvy and creative. A BSc or MSc degree in life science and experience from a commercial role in life science, biotech, med-tech or diagnostics is a must. Previous experience from start-ups is a plus. And just like for any role in a startup, no task is too advanced, nor too small, it is all about getting things done. The success factor in this role is to plan-do-act-check, and to be brave and tenacious to iterate until you find the recipe that works.
We do not believe that we need to add that it is beneficial if you are structured, driven with a humble approach. We just assume that you are. We promise you dedicated colleagues, a lot of responsibility and the possibility to make a difference.
Qualifications
• MSc or MSc in Life Science.
• 2-3 years of experience from commercial roles in biotech, med-tech or diagnostics.
• Ability to identify business opportunities and the go get it attitude to close deals and establish strategic collaborations.
• Analytical skills and a data-driven mindset, utilizing customer insights and business metrics.
• Project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple initiatives and meet deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Self-motivated and goal-oriented with a demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding targets
Join us, this is an opportunity to be part of a journey converting a technology to a commercial product and service, it will be memorable!
About Rarity Bioscience
Rarity Bioscience was founded in 2021 as a spin out from Uppsala University to further develop and commercialize the superRCA assay technology.
The superRCA technology was first discovered and developed in 2015 by PhD Lei Chen and Professor Ulf Landegren in the Molecular Tools group at the Department of Immunology, Genetics, and Pathology. The technology allows for ultrasensitive multiplex assays for detecting rare nucleic acid sequences in biological samples like liquid biopsies with a read-out based on flow cytometry, an already existing instrumentation in many labs. The technology is time efficient, ultra-sensitive and allow optimal clinical decisions at the right time to improve patient outcome.
