About the position

You will be part of a growing organization supporting Perstorp’s strategic goals of becoming a true specialty chemicals & solutions company. Today we have three main market segments; Resins & Coatings, Engineered Fluids and Animal Nutrition.

This position offers the opportunity of establishing the next segment for Perstorp - Advanced & Sustainable materials. Here we offer the building blocks and polymers that deliver superior performance and value for plastics, additives, 3D printing, heat resistant films, coated fabrics, elastomers, adhesives, safety glass and many other applications.

We need someone who is eager to drive and develop the customers and markets in this area. Heating resistant plastic sub-segment in the EMEA region is the market we are focusing on initially. We strive to further develop our offering of sustainable, circular and durable solutions in packaging, automotive, appliances among others. The position reports to Vice President Business Development, Claudio Gaino.

What you will do?

The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying, evaluating and driving strategic developments in the Advanced & Sustainable Material segment, to enhance Perstorp’s offer. You will support with your technical and commercial skills to develop our offering to the Advanced and Sustainable Material segment. You work closely with innovation, sales, marketing to develop the deep technical application of the product while you will put more focus on developing the market, collaborate with sales and set up trails with customers.

You will;

- Identify, qualify and quantify new business opportunities along the segment value chain: product and service offerings, new business models, etc.
- Understand and proactively address sustainability trends and needs.
- Support the development of the full offer to the segment and segment strategy
- Map the market.
- Develop customer relations and opportunities, supported by Business Development Directors and Innovation.
- Understand the value of our products vis a vis substitutions products.
- Proactively monitor regulations, trends and competitors in the segment.
- Participate in fairs, conferences relevant to the field.
- Structure and Follow up trials, giving technical and commercial support to target customers. Primarily within EMEA as well as possible global on specific matters.
- Support launch new products.


Who are we looking for?

- Technical education in related areas (eg Polymers, materials science Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, etc.).
- About 5-15 years of experience from preferably a combination of technical sales and technical roles.
- Great understanding and network in the plastic packaging area and a plus if also within 3D printing (value chain, challenges, trends).
- Able to work with both technical and commercial areas with our potential customers.
- Fluent in English, and also desirable good communication in German or French.
- Willing to travel to build relationships with potential customers and to develop opportunities.

You have great communications skills and naturally build relationships across and outside of the organization.

Other information

This is a permanent position which is based at our HQ in Malmö, Sweden. We work with a hybrid model meaning that we offer good flexibility in terms of working from the office or from home.

Traveling is a natural part of this position, we expect you will spend about 40 to 50% of your time meeting customers F2F.
