Business Development manager
The Business Development Manager drive the development of our customer offering by identifying and proposing growth factors, which lead to new business verticals, revenue streams and market expansions that the company should strive for.
You will analyse existing customer offering and determine its potential and develop it. You will be a marketing expert who can navigate through different business models that are available both now and, in the future with purpose to develop our business model over time.
You are the one who set goals and direction for our Product Innovation Manager regarding software development. Advises and sets direction together with the operations manager regarding customized Control Tower solutions to meet changes in the business environment and strategic goals.
The role of Business Development Manager demands that the individual in its occupation be a highly analytical individual who can work quite effectively in an international environment. The position also requires that the occupier to be skilled in technologies and capabilities in market and product demand today and actively study and predict future requirement in the business.
Objectives and Responsibilities of the Business Development Manager
Supervisory Role: The Business Development Manager oversees the roles of Innovation Managers. The Business Development Manager constantly ensures that our products are well functioned and fulfill the customer demand.
Innovation: The Business Development Manager is also tasked with overseeing the innovation and improvement of our product and market position as well as the day-to-day product activities in such a way that ensures that the product is constantly growing to suit the consumers’ needs.
Collaboration: As mentioned, the position of Business Development Manager is an cross-functional nature and this implies a high level of collaboration with Customers market leaders as well as the company’s management.
Required Qualifications of the Business Development Manager
Education: A suitable candidate will have a master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Engineering or Computer Science.
Experience: The candidate must have 5-7 years of experience in Product management of software, Product marketing in an international environment. Preferably, this experience will be include at least 3 years experience in the field of Business Economics.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills are a must for this position. The position is a strategic position and communication must be effective down the line in order to ensure the proper execution and in interaction with Management, customers other market players.
Leadership/People Skills: As the Business Development Manager, you will demonstrate strong leadership skills with an ability to move his peers as well as his juniors and have them follow a common vision. Great leadership should further be coupled with excellent people skills. People skills are what will make people want to follow him and readily and happily apply his directives.
Analytical Skills: The Business Development Manager should also demonstrate a high level of analytical and quantitative skills. He should possess the ability to use information/data and various metrics to develop an informed and factual business case. The Product Director also must have strong financial analytical capabilities that are used to further develop informed product strategies, which subsequently improves product and operational performance.
