What you will do
At Johnson Controls, we invented the very first sprinkler more than a century ago and have been delivering expertise, innovations, and service to our customers ever since. Today, we manufacture, configure, and install a range of fire extinguishing systems, including sprinklers, valves, and fire extinguishers for the whole world.
We are now seeking a Business Development Manager for our Tyco Fire Suppression Products branch. You will be responsible for implementing the regional Business Development strategy in the Nordic area (Sweden, Finland, Norway, and Denmark).
As Business Development Manager your task is to identify, investigate, and evaluate new growth opportunities to generate incremental revenue and help the business grow. You will also develop strong relationships with key consultants, end-users, OEMs, insurance companies, and other specifiers to ensure that our products and/or systems are specified.
How will you do it
Identify total offering opportunities in the region closely aligned with strategic customers and end-users
Work to drive new product introductions in partnership with the regional sales teams
Create and maintain consultative client relationships and engage in retention selling to ensure long-term success and profitability
Research and identify new business opportunities – including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products, and services – or new ways of reaching existing markets
Think strategically – seeing the bigger picture and setting aims and objectives to develop and improve the business
Seeking synergy opportunities across the NBU’s, both in terms of processes, tools, systems, shared workforces, cross-selling and upselling, then for working toward business case justification and implementation.
Provide technical training to architects, consulting engineers, AHJs, end users, OEMs, and key accounts
Participate in strategic planning processes with Director Business Development, Global Product Management, Product Sales Directors, and Territory Sales Leadership
Attend seminars, trade shows and industry conferences for educational and customer-oriented purposes
What we look for
Bachelor’s degree in Business or technical curriculum is preferable
Experience in business development or sales in the Fire Protection Industry
Engineering acumen and strong technical and commercial confidence
Functional experience in areas of strategic planning and marketing, business and market development and market research
English communication skills both verbal and written
Salesforce.com & SAP experience is desirable
Comfortable with travel up to 75% at times
You will report to the Regional Sales Director that is placed in Budapest. This manager position does not include employees referring to you. You can work remote, but there is also a possibility to get an office desk at one of our many locations in the Nordics. It’s an advantage that you live in a Nordic country and speak one of the Nordic languages.
