The ambition for the team is to increase the volume of used cars sold to our customers, by focusing on our area to grow and contribute to building on this successful journey. We are concentrating on all used car business in retail and wholesale. With used car sales becoming an important pillar of our business and source of dealer’s profitability, we have a strong ambition on driving Volvo’s used car sales and operation to a new level. We are now looking for talents to join us and strengthen our team.

What you will do
As our Business Development Manager, you will be the leader to drive the used car commercial development work in the area of both remarketing and retail. By working with EMEA HQ used car team and all the used car / remarketing managers from the markets, you will continuously deliver value-added results in way of business development projects. Your tasks will be focused on used car management as a general scope, and cascaded in detailed areas such as Remarketing, Retail and Certified Pre-Owned (SELEKT) as well as Residual Value Management.

Main responsibility
•    Drive the strategy and new business development within the used car management area
•    Build UC strategy and concepts by working with central and regional stakeholders
•    Lead business concept implementation in form of projects launching or rolling-out
•    Responsible also for used car business plan development and budget planning
•    Secure strategic alignment of used car business with corporate and EMEA business strategy to achieve the common goal of commercial transformation
•    Build synergy among the used car area itself (including UC retail, UC wholesale, RV management, digital used car, etc.)
•    Start-up new initiatives coming out of online business and commercial targets
•    Improve used car profitability by utilizing pricing tool and optimized volume planning
•    Launch new used car business modules, i.e. trade-in
•    Responsibility for the Used Car Analytics Database now and future development

You will do the tasks by understanding corporate and region strategy, local market dynamics, customer needs and internal resource capacity. You will also need to collaborate with specialists from other departments such as product, marketing, finance, Global online business (GOB) and more. When it comes to cross-regional cooperation, you will bring the best practice of EMEA to other regions, as well as learn from their side.

Do you fit the profile?
We are looking for you with experience within used cars who can show the ability to lead and drive the used car commercial development work.
In addition, we also value the following experience and skills:
•    Master’s degree in engineering or business with a strong academic track record
•    Over 5 years working experience on business development, project management, or any other commercial operations
•    Good understanding of the business from the corporate and market level
•    Strong business acumen and analytical ability
•    Experience in driving cross-functional and international projects
•    Excellent communication skills in English-written and spoken
