Business Development Officer

Sandvik Machining Solutions (SMS) is a business area within the Sandvik Group and a global market-leading manufacturer of tools and tooling systems for advanced industrial metal cutting. The Business Development function at SMS is responsible for Business Intelligence, Business Development and Mergers & Acquisitions. The function also acts as a resource pool for strategic projects. For all positions at the department, it is vital to have a high degree of flexibility and a readiness to take on new tasks. We are now strengthening the organization with a Business Development Officer, with location Sandviken.

Key performance areas
In the role of Business Development Officer you will take the initiative to ensure a solid understanding of SMS's business SWOT - current and future. Based on this understanding, you will describe scenarios and suggest actions to relevant stakeholders in SMS.

The main tasks are to:
- Structure and manage the SMS Business Development process
- Coordinate initiatives within Business Development throughout the organization
- Analyze areas of adjacent growth
- Lead and/or participate in the SMS market intelligence

International travel is required in this position.

Your profile
We are looking for a candidate with business administration education, combined with good knowledge of the engineering industry. Strong analytical and social skills are required, along with an ability to manage projects and lead others. In order to succeed in this position you also need to be a good communicator, with excellent proficiency in English. Additional language skills are a plus.

As a person you are able to work both independently and in teams and are good at building relevant networks. You also possess the necessary skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Furthermore, you quickly adapt to changing circumstances and have the ability to gather information, analyze, summarize, visualize and communicate insights for relevant purposes.
