We are now looking for a colleague that can fulfill our Senior IT Architect role within the IT Architecture Team of Vattenfall IT and take responsibility for the enterprise architecture and solution architecture towards our Asset heavy Business Units like Distribution, Hydro, Heat etc. in Sweden. Are you the one?
Responsibilities
Your main task will be to support in strategic projects like the smart meter roll out program, the upcoming Market Regulations project which drives a considerable change in the DSO landscape and the growing scope of Vattenfall IT in the OT domain.
You will have a dynamic role where you half of your time will contribute to projects – which could range from solution selection and due diligence on vendor’s IT offerings. The other half of you time will be developing strategy, technology roadmaps, managing the application portfolio and explaining and ensuring good architectural practices within the (agile) teams etc. You will as a Senior IT Architect join an international and highly experienced team consisting around 35 IT Architects working in the Vattenfall IT-architecture department.
Your key activities will be
• Understanding business needs and help them to define innovative, yet stable and secure solutions in a regulated business environment
• Project & Architecture Management, providing clear and justifiable architectural decisions towards projects so that they can reduce their time to market
• Being a technology partner, by being eminent within the technology areas you are working in with a strong background in Industrial Engineering, heat & electricity grid and heat & electricity production applications. This means that you are up to date on the latest market trends, and you have a good understanding of usage of this technology by your Business Units
• Having system engineering, by not only ensuring solutions are delivered according to architecture, but also by understanding the limitations and dependencies that complete IT landscape will have on it (like scalability, security, availability, maintainability, usability etc.)
Our ideal candidate
We are looking for a Senior IT Architect that has worked in generation and/or distribution (or similar asset intensive business units) and have minimum 10 years of experience within IT. We believe that you have good understanding of utility business processes and their IT landscape (e.g. Enterprise Asset Management, SCADA, infrastructure, SAP ERP and security regulations).
Moreover you have strong communication skills and can communicate with different levels in the organisation. You know how to combine and balance stakeholders’ interests and are not afraid to take decisions to ensure output is being realized. We believe that you are dedicated to your work and enjoy being in an ever-changing environment and work under pressure when needed.
Other qualifications
• Fluent in Swedish and English in written and spoken
• Strong skills in Enterprise, Software and/or Infrastructure Architecture
• Ideally, understanding of Swedish security regulations to ensure critical data is adequately protected, but at least confident in addressing security aspects into architecture work
• Master’s degree with 10 years of experience in IT
• It’s beneficial if you have knowledge of OT, OSI, Technical Reporting, Optimization, Engineering, Security as well as Integration topics.
Location: Solna, Sweden
We are looking for a Senior IT Architect to be located in our office in Stockholm, but believe that you are keen to meet with our business unit management and therefore do not have a problem with regular travel to some of our other Vattenfall locations (i.e. Amsterdam, Berlin, Hamburg) and also business locations in Sweden.
