Group IT – Infrastructure and OnSite Services is a global unit consisting of approximately 700 employees and consultants in most of the Volvo Group’s locations. Our mission is to ensure that we provide Volvo with the right End-User tools and services at agreed quality and to an optimal cost.
Business Infrastructure Management
Business Infrastructure Management is a global department within group IT in charge of IT Infrastructure & end user services for the Truck Divisions and Business Areas in the Volvo Group.
Digital workplace end user services (IT equipment, MyPlace client, FactoryPlace client, Telephony, IT helpdesk, Desktop applications, collaboration workplace etc.)
Common and shared IT services (Network (WAN, LAN, WLAN), Print, Identity management and several connectivity services
POSITION DESCRIPTION
GTO Business Infrastructure Manager
As a Business Infrastructure Manager, you will be the strategic interface for End User and Shared Infrastructure. You will capture requirements, communicate decisions, priorities, and relevant project information as well as proactively share knowledge of technology risks and opportunities. The focus will be on strategic initiatives and plans, proactive, anticipatory, and driving in nature and provides significant value to business units. As a Business Infrastructure Manager, you will facilitate the planning and execution of business changes supporting the overall transformation and digitalization within Group Trucks Operations.
Role mission & context
The mission is to capture requirements and to facilitate that the usage of IT services enables digitalization and transformation of Group Truck Operations.
You will be part of the globally spread Group Trucks Operations and Group Trucks Purchasing business infrastructure managers team with 9 members, reporting to the GTO/ GPM BIM Team manager.
Core Responsibilities:
Responsible for serving as the strategic interface for the purpose of IT strategy development, solution discovery, service management, risk management, and relationship management
Serves as relationship linkage (at the executive level)
Communicates decisions, priorities, and relevant project information to appropriate levels of staff regarding business unit requests, projects and initiatives
End to end management of infrastructure service requests
Proactively shares knowledge of technology risks and opportunities to build competitive advantage and improve efficiency and effectiveness for Group Trucks Operations
Serves a lead role in enabling the operational units to achieve their objectives through the effective use of technology
Required Competencies:
Excellent industrial IT / Operational IT technical competence
IT service and infrastructure knowledge
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Growth mindset
Gather and analyze information skillfully
Demonstrate resourcefulness and initiative in dealing with daily assumptions
Education Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities
Experience Required:
10 years of Industrial IT / Operational IT experience
5 years of roll-out into an Industrial IT / Operational IT environment
Experience working in a highly matrixed organization
