We’re now looking for an experienced Investigator to join our Business Integrity team. About the role
The purpose of this job is to assist management in the investigation of suspected breaches of the Sandvik Code of Conduct or law, thereby mitigating risks to the business. In addition to taking responsibility for investigation matters, the Business Integrity function is looking to enhance their investigations capability through Data Analytics and eDiscovery capabilities, integrating with the Internal Audit Data Analytics team and embedding an eDiscovery review platform.
Your main responsibilities include:
Coordinating all investigations on a global basis across the Sandvik Mining & Rock Solutions business area and on occasion supporting investigations in other business areas.
Liaison with law enforcement organizations where required.
Maintaining records and statistics in the ‘Speak Up’ system on investigations undertaken and the results of those investigations.
Provide advice and guidance to management on investigation matters including advice on compliance matters and assistance to develop risk mitigation strategies.
Support the implementation of the eDiscovery platform.
Assist with the effective communication of the 'Speak Up' Whistle-blower (WB) system, ensuring that WB matters escalated for investigation are followed through to resolution on a timely basis and provide management information to monitor the effectiveness of the WB and investigation function, ensuring that allegations of breaches of Sandvik's Code of Conduct are investigated appropriately.
Facilitate training on investigation related topics, themes, trends and outcomes.
This position can be facilitated from one of our Sandvik business units within Europe and requires international travel from time to time. You report directly to the Head of Business Integrity, Sandvik AB and have ongoing interaction with Business Area management including the Business Area General Counsel and Compliance Officer and when appropriate, work with external legal counsel. You also contribute to the monthly SMR business area ‘Ethics Committee’.
About you
This role requires an individual to be educated to a higher education level, ideally to first degree level with relevant course accreditation. Proven practical experience is of utmost importance as well as prominent written and spoken communication skills since you’re responsible for stakeholder and expectations management. You have extensive experience of undertaking detailed investigations, whether gained through working in a similar role or for a professional services company, working with law enforcement agencies or working with security agencies. You speak and write fluently in English and proficiency in other languages are also advantageous.
You have experience in conducting fact-finding investigations and reporting on the factual findings thereof as well as the handling of evidential material is imperative. In addition, experience of forensic accounting and investigatory techniques, including conducting interviews and the use of data analytics and eDiscovery document review tools to assist in investigations. Your experience of giving evidence in disciplinary enquiries or court proceedings (or other legally empowered bodies) and cross examination in support of investigation findings will be required. You’re highly organized and have strong influencing skills, have deep knowledge and understanding of relevant Data Protection as well as Anti-Bribery, Corruption, Anti Money Laundering legislation and Fraud and Financial Crime.
