YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Business Strategy and Operations Leader, you will be working closely with Chief Technology Officer and the Digital Technology Leadership team towards translating conceptual design and strategic thinking into operational plans and practice. As a core member of the Digital Technology Leadership team, you will help driving the strategy, process and solutions agenda for Technology Organization in Group Digital.
The Business Strategy and Operations Leader needs to be a visionary thinker and a proven track record of results, growth, and leadership ability in working with Technology organizations. It will require forging a new path, navigating and influencing key stakeholders to constructively challenge current practices, conventional wisdoms, and accepted ways of doing things. At the same time, s/he will have significant business, operational, and digital experience which supports bridge building, integration, and collaboration. S/he will be responsible for defining agile ways of working, governance, and processes within the IKEA business model to deliver the right solutions to realize its business ambitions.
This role will ideally be based in Malmo, Sweden which is across the bridge from Copenhagen, Denmark.
You, together with your team will be responsible for:
Strategy & Portfolio Management
Take the lead in working with the Technology Leadership team to create, consolidate and review the strategy for the Digital Technology Organization
Facilitate the development of functional plans/strategies in close co-operation with the Functional/Domain leadership team and ensure their alignment with Ingka/Digital-wide strategic landscape
Define and provide assist with building the strategy and outlining the business cases for new business venture / products / capabilities not directly attributable to existing Domain setups. Also help incubate the delivery framework and first prototypes before folding a plan to incorporate into the domain streams
Facilitate alignment of different topics within the Digital Technology organization with the broader Digital and/or IKEA (Inter or Ingka) organization
Collaboratively steer, coordinate and prioritize cross-functional strategic priorities, support and track the implementation of key initiatives as required
Develop and deliver key initiatives to drive business performance, improvements, and innovations within function/area
Step-In to drive projects and initiatives on behalf of the digital technology leadership team (as required)
Plan, schedule, monitor and reports on activities related to complex initiatives, ensuring that there are appropriate and effective governance arrangements, supported by comprehensive reporting and communication
Transformation & Communications (in close collaboration with People & Culture, Comms)
Together with People & Culture and Communications team – drive the operational delivery of transformation initiatives and efforts, including team culture, team engagement, team effectiveness, focus and transparency, and learning activities
Lead the creation of on-point and engaging digital content for our preferred channels (SharePoint, Teams & Slack, Yammer, Virtual events, and huddles, etc.)
Provide transparency of the execution status of the above for senior management and build strong bridge to the Communications team
Identifying, piloting and evaluating efficient and innovative resourcing concepts for the Tech Hubs at key locations to ensure the availability of flexible, skilled and engaged workforce
Data Analysis and Reporting
Support the CTO and the Technology leadership with insights, data and numbers to be able to make fact-based business decisions
Collaborate closely with the Domains and different parts of the technology organization to be able to bring together the different data points required through the business cycles
Become the custodian for the existing analytics and reports but also curious and entrepreneurial to keep challenging the status quo and bringing new opportunities to add value to tracking the performance of the technology organization
People Leadership
Lead, coach and develop co-workers to promote growth and secure a high performing team (in your function and also across Technology Org)
Stand-In for the CTO and/or other members of the Digital Technology Organization on as required basis into the forums / board / committees
Work closely with the P&C to help shape and transform the Digital Technology organization to be the team of choice by keeping everyone highly engaged, connected, informed and with a growth mindset
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities to succeed in this role:
Good project management and communication skills with proven track record (at least 10+ years) in creating structure in an organization going through Digital transformation, yet with an agile mindset
Proven analytical skills and experience in making decisions based on both hard and soft data. Decisive, able to think strategically with the big picture on hand and attention to detail where needed, understanding the impact on the organization
Experience in working in projects and preparing presentations for operational and strategic topics (experience with boards and c-level is a plus)
Strong influencing skills, with ability to build trustful relationships and hold stakeholders accountable on any level (junior team members or senior management)
Ability to find new ways of doing things, stimulate creative ideas and perspectives that add value. Experience as entrepreneur, start-up or consulting is a plus
Strong business acumen and a strategic and commercial mind-set. Prior experience with building and presenting business cases is a plus
Understanding of Digital as an integrated part of the business and experience from previous digital transformations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and communicate with senior business-leaders
Experience in Supplier and procurement management will be an added advantage
Requisite Education and Experience/Minimum Qualifications:
Degree with focus on Business Administration or related areas/equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum 10+ years of project management experience within Corporate environment and/or in the consulting industry
Prior experience in a Consulting industry, Start-Up and/or as an entrepreneur is a plus
Degree in PMP, PROSCI is a plus
