Who we are?
Volvo Cars has recently established a new Strategic planning function within Program Management & Strategy, Engineering & Operations. The team will be working in close collaboration with the all E&O functional areas as well as in a wider business on product planning, corporate strategy, core strategic projects, and the governance of our strategic affiliates. Strategic planning is a small, dedicated team, that cover the strategic horizon, focusing on business planning for E&O, portfolio management and long term capability planning, responsible for the E&O cycle plan, volumes and capacities. To this team we are looking for a Business Planning manager who will be responsible for leading the work of planning resource & CAPEX for E&O related to Volvo Cars and Polestar* Cycle Plan and Volume Plan. We are looking for a person who values teamwork and collaboration across many functions within the company as that will be enablers for creating the best possible executions of our regular deliveries. * For top hats/technologies where Volvo Cars support Polestar with sourcing and/or manufacturing
What will you do?
The Business Planning manager will work on a variety of tasks, primarily related to the cycle plan, volume and capacity strategy, industrial footprint and the vehicle program deliveries, but also to support on other topics within the strategic planning scope. You should expect a dynamic and fast-moving work environment, including activities such as:
· Responsible for the Strategic Planning business strategy.
· Responsible to consolidate and assess resource and CAPEX estimates for E&O in the Cycle Plan process
· Gives input to Business plans and Commodity Business Plans.
· Secure implementation of decisions and strategy gap closing via car programs, cost reduction programs and non-prod programs.
· Work continuously with cost, industrial structure and engineering benchmarking in order to identify potentials and new trends.
· Lead cross-functional studies to drive the total E&O cost down.
· These studies are selected based on benchmark and strategies but also on request from E&O Management.
· Represent E&O in cross-functional business studies, for example Value Chain studies, lead by E&O or other stakeholders in the company.
· Part of the E&O Pre Program team and have the mandate to represent Strategic Planning in decisions.
· Proactively support the Cycle Plan and Business Plan process within E&O
· Support recommendation of content of the Cycle Plan including Launch cadence.
· Support a containable, balanced and stable Cycle Plan from an investment and resource perspective
· Represent E&O point of view in different strategic forums internal Volvo Cars, as well as external


To succeed in this role, we see that you have a B.Sc. degree within relevant area or equivalent experience from the finance, commercial and/or industrial business area, for example through years of practice. We are looking for a person with a strategic and analytical approach, who has both leadership and data management skills with a great interest in the future car development, industrial trends and business acumen. You enjoy interacting with people at all levels and functions, are comfortable in working across organizations with a focused mindset. Impact and company results are what matters, you have analytical and logical skills with a passion for accuracy in numbers, are eager to learn new things, and quickly grasp the essence of complex problems from comprehensive data. You are focused and committed to quality on input and output and enjoy identifying improvement areas and embrace change, meet deadlines and are fine to work under time pressure from time to time. You see what needs to be done and do not wait for someone to tell you so. You probably have experience from the finance, commercial and/or industrial business area. Last but not the least, we are looking for someone who - on a personal level - shares our values. Being enthusiastic, curious, collaborative, interested in technology with high integrity, and a pragmatic approach towards things goes a long way.
