Reporting to the Global Director of Product Management, the Business Segment Manager together with the marketing team will develop effective go to market strategies for Husqvarnas Tree Pro products. We are a tight team with many years of combined experience, both within our professions but also within Husqvarna as a company.
The professional forestry and tree care segment is Husqvarna’s historic stronghold and legacy and it has shaped the brand for over 60 years. Today Husqvarna holds a lead position in complete cutting solutions together with accessories and digital solutions that enhance safety, efficiency, performance and engagement.
Job description:
How do we make our product successful on the market? Who are our customers? How do we combine the portfolio team, the end customers and the channels in a successful way? What offers should we have and how do we execute? These are the core questions to focus on in this position.
The Business Segment Manager will be responsible for executing a strong global strategy that support today´s business as well as our future ambitions. You will work in close collaboration with the team to ensure the ongoing alignment between the Tree Pro products, the needs, trends, and preferences of relevant markets and market segments. Further, you will identify go-to-market opportunities, including channel and market expansion in cooperation with the sales and marketing organization. To take strategic ownership and responsibility of the target group as well as defining the business opportunities within is crucial.
Our customers include everyone from individual contractors to large companies and are located worldwide. Our professional tree care and forestry customers are highly engaged, proud, enthusiastic and passionate about their occupation and you as a Business Segment Manager need to ensure that our strategy are in line with the end user needs.
Your office will be in Huskvarna but international travel occurs regularly in this position.
Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Develop training programs for industry, customer product and application knowledge along with sales aids and argumentation
- Proactive pricing and profitability pricing strategies.
- After sales/ownership solutions; our communication, our tools and our offering and solution roadmap.
- Challenging the portfolio direction and value as well as working with sales to assure the portfolio positioning is balanced towards customer and application needs by market.
- Ensuring the global teams knowledge of the customer, securing a shared vision and target.
- Along with marketing, define and refine the target group’s value proposition.
- Drive activities across all functions to deliver the strategy for the target groups.
- Responsible for the activities defined in the target group strategies in the roadmap/strategy map.
- Identify new market opportunities in order to penetrate a bigger share of our target group.
- Contribute to defining the activation plan and business plan 2025.
- Coordinating with and cooperating with key business areas for channel and business development, e.g., sales/marketing. BA – ensuring requirements are secured before launches. Marketing material. Sales training, spare parts, etc.
The Business Segment Manager is the primary interface between the Tree Professional Business Unit and sales regarding new market opportunities and has the mandate to recommend areas of priority to execute a market growth strategy. You will participate in portfolio meetings and will contribute to the customer segment presentations and direction. Further you will propose and follow up key KPI´s for the business unit’s related functions.
Skills:
- Bachelor in relevant field or equivalent work experience.
- Several years of experience within marketing and sales with documented successful marketing and/or sales execution.
- Strong history on how to bring a product or service to the market as well as execution of marketing or sales programs to market.
- Documented experience in bringing theory to execution.
- Ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside clients and vendors.
- Several years of experience of cross-functional work, leadership and work in a global and multicultural environment.
- Knowledge of sales management is desirable but not a demand.
- Proficiency in English is a requirement.
