You will play an important part in enabling our R&D organization to evolve in the virtual development activities and promote simulation driven product development. You will act as a bridge between IT delivery teams, engineering stakeholders and simulation software vendors to ensure a fit for purpose of IT solutions enabling cutting-edge technology development using simulations. ,You will manage the tactical development of the CAE IT Solution Sub-Portfolio to support Group Trucks and Business Area Strategic Objectives & Digital Engineering Long Term Plans.


This involves managing the application portfolio, being responsible to create, anchor and follow-up the portfolio budget, and securing the successful initiation and execution of epics in line with portfolio directives and business priorities. You will indentify and lead intitiatives within the simulation area to maximize efficiency and productivity and take ownership of the CAE SW roadmap for all functional areas.


In order to be successful in this position you need to have technical competence in simulations and related CAE tools and applications. You need to have a good understanding of license models for the renewed simulation software vendors. At least 3 years of experience of IT Development / projects / portfolio management. You are expected to be highly skilled in dynamically balancing scope, time, cost, quality, and delivery of initiative or managing portfolios, as well as having a general understanding of IT architecture related to simulation applications.
To be successful in this position, you need to have solid communication skills, the ability to build trustful relations, and to be business literate, i.e. to understand and have experience from cost/benefit analysis and building business cases.


Main Responsibilities
Manage CAE portfolio budget
Development and follow-up of strategic vision and tactical road maps of the R&D CAE sub-portfolio
Manage efficiency and harmonization of Sub-Portfolios, focusing sharing of best practices, increased re-use, and reduced running cost on the Sub-Portfolio
Establish and drive CAE community globally, where relevant stakeholders working with simulations within GTT should be involved
Set business requirements on the SLA towards IT Services and anchor SLA in Sub Portfolio Working Group
Secure that New Development projects contribute to the Sub Portfolio roadmap
Participate in new development Project Steering Committee for main projects impacting the Sub-Portfolio
Define present and future CAE ways of working
Capture and coordinate cross-process and cross-sub-portfolio requests regarding the simulation area
Become trusted advisor and build a network to capture the simulation demand from the R&D departments
Be an effective bridge between the R&D organization and the IT delivery teams
General Virtual Technology watch
Collaborate within an international team of engineers throughout Europe, America and Asia

Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
This role requires a Master University degree or Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, computer science or engineering physics
A proven track record in the simulation area within trucking / automotive industry
Good understanding and working experience of simulation, portfolio management, license models etc.
Curiosity and a strong ability to learn new technologies
Positive energy with a drive to motivate oneself and others
Change management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
