Sandvik Mining and Construction (SMC) is a world-leading supplier of equipment and complete solutions for the mining and construction industries.SMC's production unit in Svedala is a global development center for stone crushers, which are used in mining, quarries and the construction industry.The site is divided into three main areas of operation: foundry (Wear Parts), mechanical workshop (Parts) and assembling (Assembly). SMC Logistics is responsible for developing and maintaining a logistics infrastructure.The logistics infrastructure delivers logistics services that fulfil the service requirements set by SMC.We are now looking for a Buyer for our operations in Svedala.Key performance areas As Buyer you are responsible for the day-to-day operational buying activities and managing the overall performance of your suppliers within the named category.You will report to the category team leader and co-operate with other buyers, technical order desk and sourcing.Main tasks include: - Supporting the regions with technical data, flow sheet diagrams and installation data, as well as conducting technical sales training - Creating and maintaining good communication and co-operation with suppliers - Working with experienced regional sales organizations - Requisition confirmation and purchase order release, confirmation and administration - Expediting - Resolving inbound discrepancies (short shipments, wrong or damaged parts, inadequate paperwork, etc.) - Updating price and lead times - Acting upon LPS/e-mail requests (expediting, item price and availability, etc.) from the regions Your profile The ideal candidate holds at least a Bachelor's degree within logistics and/or business administration. We would expect you to take initiative and to have an analytical and open-minded approach to problem solving.The job entails working in a global and decentralized organization; therefore, you need to be able to co-operate and take responsibility for your own progress.Excellent communication skills in English and Swedish, both spoken and written, are essential.
