PURPOSE OF THE JOB

As a Buyer, you will be responsible for purchasing materials from suppliers and ensure that delivery is made on time. You will play an important role in ensuring a high service level for production and end customers and contribute to the improvement of costs and inventory optimization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Create purchase orders in SAP and dispatch in SAP and to counter-suppliers defined by Sourcing.
Secure material availability and delivery on time.
Monitor suppliers’ performance over QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery).
Determine, handle and prevent both short-term and long-term material shortages from suppliers.
Update the rest of the SC organization on any potential material shortages.
Strengthen the communication with suppliers, purchasing and production.
Co-team with suppliers and strategic purchasing to obtain the best possible supplier performance with regards to supplier on time delivery, lead time and flexibility.
Monitor supplier performance OTIF and drive improvement measures based on OTIF.
Develop and implement action plans with the supplier and strategic purchasing to increase performance.
In the event of a delegation from Sourcing: Responsible for updating and maintaining supplier data in SAP.
In the event of a delegation from Sourcing: Negotiate agreements and terms with suppliers.


QUALIFICATIONS
University education in purchasing / logistics or equivalent experience
Knowledge of laws and regulations regarding purchasing
Language: Fluent Swedish, English, speech and writing
Experience of working with ERP systems (SAP merit)
Experience of purchasing and the purchasing process
IT skills and knowledge of the Office package, mainly Excel & Word
Good planning and organizational skills
Able to handle multiple issues / problems at the same time and have a sense of priority
Capable of building a good relationship with suppliers with regard to delivery in accordance with Alstom's regulations
