Global Purchasing is responsible for buying products and services for all of Scania’s units around the world. The global purchasing function is based in Södertälje.
The Commodity Supplies Group is part of Scania’s global organisation for purchasing indirect material and consists of nine members. Together, we provide Scania with necessities such as chemicals, tools, consultants and marketing services.
Your duties
This is an entry level dual function position as Segment Support and Buyer within the Purchasing organisation. Primary responsibilities are within the Segment of Automotive Fluids and Industrial Chemicals.
In your role as Segment Support, you will work closely with the commodity purchasers and provide administrative support of commercial agreements, act as first line contact for the segment both towards suppliers and internal customers, as well as to support in negotiations and strategic work when needed. The Segment Support is expected to drive non-commercial and improvement projects as well for the segment.
In your position as Buyer, you will be responsible for smaller purchasing activities driving supplier negotiations, implementing commercial agreements and developing existing and future suppliers as part of the overall segment strategy determined by the commodity purchasers.
The role of Segment Support/Buyer is a varied job with significant commercial and technical content. The products within this remit are widely used throughout Scania and the work provides extensive internal and external network of contacts.
Your profile
We are looking for a person who has a strong project and commercial interest, a great interest in technology and who is passionate about teamwork. You are probably a down-to-earth graduate engineer or economist, with 1-2 years experience in sales, production, product development or purchasing. Exceptional organisational skills, strong analytical ability combined with creativity and the ability to get things done in a short time are qualities that we believe are vital for this role at Scania. In addition, you should be able to handle several tasks in parallel as the role is flexible and the tasks varied.
We are looking for someone who can prioritise and meet deadlines, works collaboratively and who takes the initiative and assumes responsibility. Excellent communication skills are highly valued, as you will have extensive contact with others at various levels both within Scania and externally. You should be capable of expressing yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish and English.
