For our branch in Lammhult (Sweden) we are looking for a new colleague to join our team as Buyer. You’ll be working in a dynamic role, as a team member of the Purchase Department at Johnson Controls, reporting to the Purchase Manager. A role in which the tasks vary significantly with a lot of room for independency, and you will be active both strategically as well as operationally, at a Fire Suppression Products (FSP) Business Unit level.
How will you do it:
Strategically:
You negotiate with international suppliers about purchase- and logistical terms and conditions, and where applicable, setting up contracts with selected suppliers, together with Category Management.
Ongoing analyse product portfolio against current market conditions.
You send RFQ’s for price and lead-time (among other conditions), and then convert these for our Sales departments
Finding opportunities for cost/efficiency improvement in the Supply Chain, but also identifying (potential) risks is relevant.
On a monthly basis you evaluate the performance of the vendors, and take appropriate actions, if required
Close contact with Prefab Shop and various departments, such as i.E. Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Sales and the Warehouse, (internal) Audit and Category Management
Participation in meetings with various departments
Listen to the Voice of the Customer / Business (VOC / VOB) / Give the best possible service to our internal customers
And finally, you always have a pro-active attitude when it comes to opportunities that can help optimizing the existing processes, in order to increase efficiency and improve on continuity of the department
Operational:
At the operational side of the role the challenge is to plan in such a fashion, that an efficient and effective material- and dataflow is a standard. This enables us to comply to the overall goals and targets when it comes to customer satisfaction and cost control
Involved in the demand forecasting process and the handling of the MRP elements
Place purchase orders and expedite on them, and help to find structural solutions for (potential) shortages
Monitoring the phase in / phase out-process when new products are introduced
Advise Sales on stock availability
Analyzing project demand-requirement and ensure efficient progress in this respect
What we look for:
Hard working and driven Buyer, with a decent amount of feeling for commerce and technical products
You are a firm personality with a pragmatic approach and a structured way of working. Being pro-active and a great team player comes naturally for you.
It’s an advantage if you have a Bachelor degree, preferably in the direction of Supply Chain or Operations Management, and/or relevant Procurement experience in a multinational environment for a period of at least 3 years
Demonstrated success in working across organizational boundaries, as well as working in a global organization across various cultures and departments, is preferable
Software knowledge: SAP or equivalent ERP-tool, MS Office (strong proficiency on Excel)
Strong analytical and communication skills
Advanced Swedish and English language skills, verbal and written. Basic knowledge of Norwegian language is a preference
