Buyer - Indirect Purchasing, Tooling and Equipment

The purchasing function within Volvo Car Group is divided between Production Purchasing and Indirect Purchasing. The Indirect Purchasing department is divided into three sections; Logistics & Facilities, Machinery, Tooling & Development Equipment, MRO (maintenance & repair) and Services and Operational development. We work with our stakeholders to create and deliver supreme value together with our suppliers.
As a Buyer within the Volvo Cars IDP team (Indirect Purchasing) you will execute operational purchasing activities of IDP to support stakeholders within defined commodities. You support the implementation of strategic sourcing results and support the operational efficiency. You work closely with the stakeholders and support/execute procurement activities. Implement contracts, agreements, and new processes. The group Tooling & Development Equipment consists of seven purchasers buying Tooling & Development Equipment (for example: Stamping dies, die design, presslines, emission systems, shaking rigs, crash test equipment, measurement equipment, design models and more).
Main responsibilities
* Advise and work with stakeholders on procurement issues, providing support and guidance at all stages of the procurement cycle
* Participate as required in global and regional strategic sourcing projects
* Provide market data and information to strategic sourcing teams
* Work in close collaboration with Purchasing managers, strategic buyers, and stakeholders, to ensure acceptance and implementation of the sourcing strategy. Actively participate in the validation of the sourcing strategy implementation approach
* Track key performance indicators on supplier and stakeholder contracts compliance; define and take corrective actions to improve contracts compliance.
* Drive procurement initiatives and manage sourcing's outside defined strategies
* Perform sourcing activities according to IDP sourcing process
* Perform necessary market analysis to support the sourcing activity
* Screen, short list and select potential suppliers through a RFI and RFQ process
* Develop negotiation tactics and lead supplier negotiations
* Initiate and conduct supplier evaluations and supplier audits as well as continuously track supplier performance on quality and cost
* Take an active role in develop and supporting efficient standardized req-to-pay processes
Required qualifications
* Technical University education (or equivalent)
* Experience from Engineering
* Experience from Commercial work
* Experience from Commercial negotiations and legal knowledge
* Excellent communication skills (written and oral) in both English and Swedish
* Merit: Experience from automotive tooling & development equipment projects
