Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.
Connectivity at Scania is one of the key components in Scania’s “Driving the shift” strategy. At the department Connected Systems (EC), 100+ R&D wizards work with enabling solutions all the way from the vehicle mounted telematics unit, via Telecom networks to the Scania service platform in the cloud.
Connectivity in general is all about Data. Data in large volumes in a flexible and usable way is a key success factor for organisations that want to survive the digital shift. Scania today have over 400 000 (and counting) vehicles and other products connected online. The department is looking for a programmer and Scrum Master for a team working with embedded software development.
What you will do
Here comes the fun part! You will be working within a team called “Onboard Platform” to develop and maintain the platform software for our connectivity units.
You will work as a C++ developer in the team. Your main tasks will be to develop new features and automated test cases, maintain and troubleshoot the released platform and provide expertise when needed in support cases. As a developer you will contribute to drive the evolution of our software platform to support new technologies and use cases in line with Scania’s “driving the shift” strategy.
Who you are
You are a Software Engineer. You have experience from C++ development in Linux for embedded systems (example: Raspberry Pie). Experience from different development tools/services/techniques such as cmake, Git, gitlab-ci, Docker, Jenkins, CI/CD, tools for Static code analysis is meritous. You are well-structured and keen on delivering high quality software. Agile development and continuous deployment are to you well known and appreciated techniques.
You most likely have a formal engineering degree in software, electrical or computer science, or the equivalent experience. Knowledge in the areas of IoT/ connectivity and/or the electrical system of (heavy) vehicles is a great advantage for this role.
