Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

Do you want to be in the driver seat of Scania’s electrification journey? Then this position is something for you!

Within the department Charging & Power Distribution System you will be a part of a tight team of cable harness designers who is working focused on BEV trucks. Your primarily responsibilities will be to design the VCB cable harness for transferring high voltage electrical power on the trucks. You will be an important link between the chassis installation and the system development. Our cable harnesses goes from and to batteries, electric machines, charging unit, and others.

About the role

As a design engineer you will have an end to end responsibility, both developing new components and improving existing components in customer operation. You will work in a highly cross-functional environment within Scania and with suppliers. Right now we are transforming for the future and work in agile teams with one common value pull.

Your assignment


• You will design the layout of our high and/or low current cables on all BEV trucks, which include design electric circuit diagrams, bundle drawings, 3D models, mounting and assembly drawings.
• Verification and validation of the components.
• Improve our design layout with focus on quality and cost, and also improve our methods and processes.
• Prepare reports and presentations, and effectively communicate your findings in various meetings.

Your profile

You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree within electrical or mechanical engineering. Ideally you have at least 3 years of work experience from design work and especially in the tool CATIA V5 and SABER. You are an ambitious and driven design engineer who thrive in a dynamic, fast paced work environment. You find motivation in developing the best way forward in cooperation with others. You have a good analytical ability and you navigate between details and context to find the optimal technical solution. Others would describe you as prestige less, humble, determined, solution-oriented, communicative and well-structured in your work. When it comes to communication you need to be fluent in English, both in speech and in writing.
