Arbetsbeskrivning
Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.
The cable harness is the blood vessels of Scania's vehicles, keeping the truck going on the road with all the vehicle’s electrical functions, keeping the driver safe throughout the working day. Do you want to be in the middle of the platform, distributing 24V power and a multitude of signals throughout the entire Vehicle? Then we have the right positions for you. We are looking to expand our team with a handful of dedicated designers, to develop the best electrical system in the business!
As a member of one of our teams at R&D, you will be able to develop yourself, your design- and electrical skills. You will be responsible for freely solving design challenges for the electrical systems in the truck that you are in charge of, and we also offer you the opportunity to work in development teams within different disciplines. This gives a wide knowledge about Scania’s modular toolbox and requirements, working with all variants of the truck specifications. Welcome to a great team that helps, supports, shares knowledge, and has great fun together!
Your new job
As a cable harness designer, you are working with the development of our future truck specifications, not yet introduced, along with improving functions in our current product portfolio, introducing customer-requested improvements. You can be involved in product development projects in all stages, from concept development to industrialization, and maintenance.
You will work with cable harness development through:
• electrical schedules or/and 3D routings
• product documentation
• improvement and problem-solving for systems you are in charge of.
You will work on several projects in parallel, and follow the maturity of your systems during their life cycle.
Scania R&D is transforming towards a team-based, value-flow way of working. You will participate actively in planning and daily work, striving for shortening lead times with quality and quantity kept at a high level.
You will be working in a central position at Scania R&D, working cross-functionally with mechanical design groups, purchasers, production engineers, suppliers, projects managers, and more, to make sure we develop the best quality and innovative solutions for our customers.
Your profile
We believe you have:
• a university degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, product development, or similar
• experience or knowledge about electrical design, electrical schedule, or electrical components
• experience in cable harness or mechanical design.
• knowledge in CAD
• interest in product development
It is a plus if you previously have worked in automotive, or with the systems Saber or Catia.
Through your tasks, you will establish a broad network where collaboration is the key to success. Therefore your teamworking-skills are of great importance, as well as your ability to keep calm in a flexible environment.
Scania offers you
As a Scania employee, you are given excellent professional development opportunities, great colleagues and the possibility to be a part of a revolutionizing journey. Working at Scania you are offered benefits such as personnel car, mutual performance bonus, occupational pension, flexible working hours and much more.
