Seats and Safety CAE team
The Seats and Safety department is responsible for the interior safety systems. This includes all the seats, airbags and seatbelt systems. The department is now looking to further increase our knowledge and to work towards a CAE driven development future.
We are now looking for a CAE engineer interested in seat simulations to help us further improve on Volvo’s Safety Vision for future projects.

About us
The main tasks of the CAE team are to support interior and complete vehicle groups with knowledge and CAE models of the seats and restraints. We develop new simulation methods, help develop requirements, interact with suppliers, build models, and perform studies related to our subsystems, both in car projects but also in Advanced Engineering projects.

What you will do
•    Simulation and analysis of Seat systems.
•    Develop seat models for concept studies and requirement settings.
•    Participate in early product development phase as well as in the industrialization phase. 
•    Verify CAE models and CAE results.
•    Participate in planning and analysis of physical testing.
•    Make and present CAE and analysis reports.
•    Close cooperation with other teams at Volvo and at suppliers.

You and your skills
You are a team player with strong communications skills and a genuine interest in simulations. You are proactive, a fast learner with an analytical and solution-based mindset. Your technical competence and your interaction with different teams create a great atmosphere for innovative solutions. 

•    B.Sc.or M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, Mathematics or equivalent experience.
•    Minimum 2 years’ experience of modelling and simulating seat systems.
•    Experience from physical testing/CAE validation work.
•    Experience with LS-Dyna, Ansa, Primer.
•    Fluent in English.
•    Foam, composite, and plastic material modelling.
•    Seating comfort knowledge.
