CAE Engineer - Side and Roof

CAE Engineer - Side and Roof

Arbetsbeskrivning

Who are we?
Volvo Cars is a company on a mission; to bring traditional car manufacturing into a connected, sustainable and smart future.
Since 1927, we have been a brand known for our commitment to safety, creating innovative cars that make life less complicated for our consumers. In 2010, we decided to transform our business, resulting in a totally new generation of cars and technologies, as well as steady growth and record sales. Today, we’re expanding our global footprint in Europe, China and the US, and we’re on the lookout for new talent.
We are constantly pushing our own skills and abilities to drive change in the automobile industry like never before. We are looking for innovative, committed people to join us in this endeavour and create safe, sustainable and connected cars. We believe in the power of people and will challenge and support you to reach your full potential. Join us and be part of Volvo Cars’ journey into the future.

What you will do
As a CAE engineer at Side and Roof you will have the possibility to support the development of complete doors during all the industrialization phases, from concept phase to post-production. You will support cross-functional collaborations with designers and engineers to deliver a door structure with the desired performances within the specified deadlines. Together with concerned Product Owners, Group Design Leaders, Architects and Designers you will recommend the door solutions that fulfil all the legal and Attribute (safety, durability, NVH, corrosion, weight) demands, while discussing the different requirements from the Attribute Centers.

The main responsibility of your role is to perform finite element analysis for a wide variety of load cases. You will be performing safety, durability, NVH and optimization analysis in LS-Dyna, Abaqus as well as Nastran. Your aim is to find the best cross-functional solution.
You will be working closely with architects and designers in a creative environment with concept evaluations, advanced engineering, and other studies.

What you will bring
Your interest lays in finding the small innovative solutions that make the big difference! Your aim is to develop the door system to the very best!
You know by experience what great teamwork can bring, but do not mind working alone when needed. It is the different aspects that challenge you of randomly working more analytical with focus on details and the next day focusing on the big picture and adapting to that together with your colleagues.
You believe that active listening will encourage and bring confidence within a team that will grow good relationships and networks. Supporting collaborations with colleagues from the whole company will also make sure to deliver in time.

·         You have an M.Sc. in a relevant area and a fundamental understanding of structural mechanics and CAE simulations (Safety, Durability or NVH) with experience as a simulation analyst.
·         It is meritorious if you have experience in engineering areas coupled to vehicle construction and have experience in the pre- and post-processors Ansa and Meta as well as the solvers LS-Dyna, Abaqus or Nastran.
·         Knowledge in Volvo's computer system is meritorious.

We hope that we have caught your interest and we do want to emphasize that diversity in all aspects is important for the growth of our work.
