CAE & Concept Development is part of the department Transmission Engineering with responsibility for the following components: Flywheel, clutch system, manual and automatic gearboxes, shifter, driveshaft's, AWD-system and hybrid transmissions. The team consist of 15 persons and our main work is to virtually analyse, develop and verify transmission systems. In addition design prerequisites are defined and concept development is made within the team. The department is now facing an exciting future where the need for lower fuel consumption and premium attributes moving the development of the transmission systems forward.

As a CAE engineer - Transmission you will work with new technology within the transmission area. You have a good opportunity to make a difference in the development of transmission systems as a CAE engineer. You will do analysis and simulations on components as well as complete transmission systems. We will together make even better Volvo cars!

Main responsibilities

* Simulation and functional analysis of transmission components and systems
* Define and analyze design prerequisites e.g. load spectra
* Define test cycles based on simulated or measured customer usage
* Verify CAE models and CAE results
* Participate in planning and analysis of physical testing connected to CAE
* Write and present CAE reports

Required qualifications

* M.Sc. in mechanical or equivalent experience
* Experience of Matlab
* Interest in cars and transmission technology
* Fluent in English, written and spoken
* Drivers license B

* Good ability to work in teams
* Self motivated and with ability to take initiatives
* Positive and driven
