CAE Engineer-Vehicle Dynamics

Driving Dynamics Centre has the exciting and important task to develop and verify the attributes of Braking, Driver Assistance, Handling, Ride, Steering and Performance & Drivability within Vehicle Engineering. The Vehicle Dynamics CAE section is actively participating in the development and verification of the vehicle by simulating the vehicle handling, steering and ride properties. It is also within our responsibility to simulate ground and wheel clearance. We perform CAE analyses on both system and full vehicle level. The Vehicle Dynamics functions are assessed using software-in-the-loop (SIL) and we also perform real time simulations in our driving simulator. We work in close collaboration with the design and attribute teams in each vehicle program. The section is now expanding to support the future needs of virtual development and development of autonomous vehicles.
As a CAE Engineer Vehicle Dynamics you are responsible for planning and performing virtual simulations, including analysis of results, recommendation of design changes and reporting. The responsibilities also include development of new virtual methods. As part of our expanding team you will be working in a creative environment shaping tomorrow's vehicles and virtual methods for Vehicle Dynamics.
Main responsibilities
* CAE simulations and analysis of results
* Optimisation of vehicle dynamics performance in vehicle projects
* Model development and validation of models
* Process and method development
* Participation in advanced engineering assignments
Required qualifications
* M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, with emphasis in Vehicle Dynamics
* CAE experience in the field of Vehicle Dynamics
* Proficient in dynamic modeling using Adams/Car, IPG CarMaker or similar simulation tools
* Fluent in English, written and spoken
* Driver's licence, B-level valid in Sweden
* Ph. D in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent with emphasis in Vehicle Dynamics is meritorious
* An asset would be experience of simulation of control systems, driving simulator experience, experience of optimisation tools and/or project management skills
Personal qualities
* Self-driven with a positive attitude
* Able to take initiative and to identify and accomplish challenging objectives
* Strong analytical skills
* Ability to plan, conduct, summarise and report your work in a structured and thorough manner
* You have good communication and social skills and a willingness to actively participate in the team's common matters
