CAE Test Engineer Brake Noise

Vehicle Dynamics & Active Safety Centre is a department within Active Safety & Chassis. The Braking Analysis and Verification section is actively participating in the development and verification of the vehicle. We are responsible for analysis, verification and validation of attribute, functions, and systems regarding Braking i.e Brake Performance and Brake Noise. In addition, the section is also responsible for the requirements regarding Braking Attributes. Using progressive technology and engineering, we are active and responsible during all stages of the product development process; ranging from the research phase through concept phase, industrialization and post production quality support. Currently our section consists of 16 positive and committed colleagues who support each other in the daily work, while also encouraging cross team and cross role involvement. Despite the fact that the development of cars goes from physical testing to a more CAE-oriented development, we still need to be really good at testing both to verify and validate our cars and also to collect data to our simulations and CAE-models.
Due to many ongoing projects we need to strengthen our team and we are now searching for a test engineer within the Brake Noise area. As a Test Engineer Brake Noise you are responsible for planning and performing tests, including analyses of results and reports. The responsibilities also include development and documentation of test methods. As part of our expanding team you will be working in a creative environment shaping tomorrow's vehicles.
Main responsibilities
* Car tests, analysis and validation
* Rig tests, analysis and validation
* Development of test methods
Required qualifications
* MSc or Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent with emphasis in NVH (Noise Vibration and Harshness) or Structural Dynamics
* Good knowledge in NVH-measurement and analysis
* Fluent in English (written and spoken)
* Driver's licence (B-level)
* CAE experience in the field of NVH or Structural Dynamics is meritorious
* Product/Process/Function development experience within the automotive industry is meritorious
* Experience from testing in complete vehicles is preferable
* Experience from rig-testing is meritorious
* Experience from measurement systems used in car testing is meritorious
Personal qualities
* Self-driven with a positive attitude
* Able to take initiative and to identify and accomplish challenging objectives
* Strong analytical skills
* Ability to plan, conduct, summarise and report your work in a structured and thorough manner
* Good communication and social skills and a willingness to actively participate in the team's common matters
