Calculation Engineer within Solid Mechanics to UBPS – Energy Storage Simulation.
As a calculation engineer at UBPS you will have a key role in the product development of the battery pack and moduels for our upcoming completely electrified vehicles. We contribute to swift development by simulation, evaluating the concepts together with design and test engineers in an agile process. The role
Our group is comprised of 11 calculation engineers working within FEM and CFD respectively. As a FEM engineer you will calculate mechanical integrity of highly dynamic systems with the help of the finite element method. The daily work is mainly conducted within cross-functional teams including designers, calculation engineers and test engineers where you will:
• Correlate your results to physical tests and measurements. Your conclusions give advice and directions to the team.
• Through your expertise and competence, help and guide the designers from an early stage in the design process until product release.
• Share your results and analyses both orally and in written reports
• Contribute to the work of development of calculation methods with the help of new usage of software and/or test data to improve efficiency and accuracy, both in-house and with the collaboration of external suppliers.
• Evaluate new information, processes and education within the discipline, to be able to improve the best-practice currently employed at Scania.
Your profile

• Are an engaged team player and like to be challenged.
• Are analytical and like to deep dive into complex problems as well as having a focus on delivering results in high paced projects.
• Have a good ability to understand customer needs and how to tailor simulations to help daily product development.
• Are able to make your own decisions and are engaged and structured within a project.
• Have a degree in Mechanical engineering, Engineering physics or similar and experience in performing strength simulations
• Have experience in pre-processors Ansa and Hypermesh, and FE-solver Abaqus.
• Have excellent communication skills in terms of both oral presentation and written reports in English. A basic level of Swedish is needed, along with a willingness to learn.
