Calibration Engineer

Would you like to develop future powertrains? We are looking for experienced Calibration Engineers! AVL Powertrain Engineering Scandinavia has approximately 190 employees based in Haninge, Södertälje and Gothenburg. AVL is a leading company in developing testing technology and methodology for efficient powertrain development, calibration is one key element in this field. As a calibration engineer at AVL you will work with cutting edge technology in collaboration with experts in the global AVL team and our customers. We are dealing with calibration tasks for both light duty and heavy duty engines. Therefore our scope spans from performance-, emission- & drivability calibration of engines for passenger car applications to heavy duty engines for trucks and off-road applications. AVL Powertrain Engineering Scandinavia is the competence center for alternative fuels within AVL; therefore calibration of engines using alternative fuels is part of our daily business. You will be working in our facilities in Gothenburg, Södertälje, Haninge or outside Sweden. Alternatively as a highly appreciated AVL resident engineer directly at our customers.

Your Responsibilities:
Perform calibration of light duty diesel- and gasoline engines
Perform calibration of heavy duty diesel engines
Perform calibration of engines powered by alternative fuels (CNG, biodiesel, ethanol, etc.)
Propose function & algorithm changes to improve engine management systems
Depending of the nature, size and type of the project and your skills, project management responsibility can be part of your tasks

Your Profile:
Very good social and communication skills
Sound knowledge and genuine interest in present and future engine technologies
Experience of engine management systems and engine calibration
Experience in using technical computing environments such as Matlab Simulink
Experience of application and data logging tools such as Inca, ATI Vision, CANalyzer or similar
Experience of dedicated data evaluation tools such as AVL Concerto
Eager to learn and guide your co-workers within your area of knowledge
Eager to learn and specialize yourself in new areas
Eager to learn and utilize the AVL developed calibration tools enabling fast and high quality state of the art calibration
Master degree in engineering or equivalent
