What we offer
Capacity Management team (CM) operates withing Operational Planning & supply chain management, within manufacturing operations.
CM has the global responsibility to deliver capacity assurance in both product creation as well as in running production, both cross brand and for shared technologies. 
The Capacity Management team is owning and driving capacity assurance tasks in harmonizing all markets and end-customer requests with the global production demand, from PS milestone to end of life cycle. 

We are now looking for a new team member who likes to work in a challenging and always changing environment where he/she can contribute in supporting Volvo Car Group business objectives to deliver the cars our customer wants.
This is a unique and exciting challenge where you will get insight in a central function of the company with broad spectre of stakeholders and parameters to consider.

Scope:
As Capacity Specialist, you will lead the capacity management work for a specific component area, cross vehicles, engine programs and plants in a cross functional environment. We are running a Capacity improvement program, which gives you the opportunity to join a team in development and contributes to its exciting future.
CM has a strong tradition of developing tools and ways of working.
You will report to the Senior Manager of Capacity Management team. 

Your key tasks 
As Capacity specialist for a defined area, you will lead and drive activities to secure that capacity for material supply from suppliers is according to the decided Master Production Schedule and harmonize it with plant(s) capacity through product creation to end of product life cycle. 

You will work actively and closely with Procurement, OtD Management and Product Specification to harmonize supply and market demand.
Capacity Specialist will create, check and change capacities continuously to meet the actual and forecasted demands and act as the subject matter expert within its area. 
You will act as ambassador on how we globally secure material capacities and our ways of working.
You and your skills
You have minimum 5 proven years of experience from relevant industrial sector (preferably at Volvo Cars), operations, management and/or purchasing. 
You understand Volvo Cars product development methodology and how the product structure is built. 
You may have knowledge of Production planning or/and Hercules and understand supply chain flows and its impact on production planning. 
You have basic knowledge of procurement processes and can judge business cases linked to supplier investments. 
You dare engage in discussions with different internal stakeholders and are comfortable to perform presentations when required.

For this position, you need good communication skills, strong sense of delivery and a eagerness to accomplish results and getting things done.
You are resourceful and can manage with limited information.
You dare to draw conclusions and do recommendations.
You are a team player – gives and asks for support.
You are open minded with aim to find proactive solutions to potential or existing problems. 
Lastly, you have an analytical, curious and flexible personality and love to use this in your daily tasks.
