IKEA of Sweden, or IoS, is responsible for developing the IKEA range and making it available to stores and customers all over the world. IoS is based in Älmhult - the heart of IKEA and the centre of IKEA range development. Expressed in terms of IKEAs three main processes, IoS leads the processes Creating the Home Furnishings Offer and Supplying. IoS also takes part in the third main process, called Communicating & Selling, which is lead by Retail.

Category Analyst
IKEA of Sweden, Älmhult
At IKEA of Sweden we develop and make the IKEA range available to stores and customers all over the world. Within the responsibilities of IKEA of Sweden lies the development, sourcing, supply and steering of a unique, competitive and efficient range.
The main assignment of the Category Analyst is to work together with the Category Leaders and Sourcing Developers and being responsible for short term projects within the category organization which support the category business plan. Category Analyst is an important contributor in business and performance improvement in the category dimension and active in areas like cost reductions, product quality, sustainability and availability.
Assignment
- Work across the full scope of IKEA's global purchase development process across all different types of materials and categories.
- Responsible for project management around certain key areas within the Category dimension.
- Provide expertise in data analysis, process orientation and develop tools to leverage the category strategy.
- Support / drive competitive biddings and facilitate negotiations where needed.
- Secure fact based decisions, make scenarios and recommendations.
- Drive and take initiatives together with Category leaders.
KNOWLEDGE:
- High level of analytical skills specifically around data and processes to contribute to increased internal efficiencies and fact based decisions.
- Good knowledge of English, both spoken and written.

To be a successful Category Analyst we would like you to have 3-5 years of experience in related field of work with proven track record. You may have a university degree in business, industry or engineering field (e.g. production, construction or materials) or corresponding knowledge. You have understanding of Supply Chain management and experience of working with systematic business methodology and project management principles. Since IKEA of Sweden is a truly international environment, you need to be fluent in English, both spoken and written.
As a person, you are highly motivated, decisive and have a strong business drive. You have the ability to foresee the consequences of one's own actions and act based on high moral and ethical principles. You have a high level of analytical skills and an overall view with both operational and tactical thinking. You are strong in communicating, creating structure and building trustful relationships.
