We are now looking for an experienced buyer/”sourcing specialist” to join our Procurement Global Category Team for Inbound Logistics. The team responsible for this specific role covers the purchasing of inbound road transports. In our team, you will work in close cooperation with colleagues, internal stakeholders, and external suppliers to secure delivery of our brand-new cars and spare parts – at the right cost, quality, and service.
Experience in complex sourcing projects and tenders is needed, and the candidate must be independent and hence be able to run projects from start to finish on his/her own.
You will report to Team Manager Logistics EMEA – and we look forward to extending the team with yet another skilled and experienced buyer who enjoys working in a dynamic global environment.
You will
- maximize Volvo Cars total value of ownership for your assigned commodity.
- support the development of sourcing strategy and plan for your assigned commodity.
- create and maintain commercial relations with suppliers and stakeholders.
- lead/support cross-functional sourcing projects including activities of; preparation, execution, analysis, negotiation, supplier selection and contract signing.
- work towards individual & team targets and perform administrative tasks related to the job.
Do you fit the profile?
You have a university degree or equivalent experience
You have minimum of 3 years of experience from a relevant Purchasing role and above-listed sourcing activities
You are fluent in English, written and spoken
Experience from logistics, project management or the automotive industry is meritorious
On a personal level
To be successful in the role you need to have a business mindset, be target-oriented, performance-driven, and take commercial responsibility for assigned commodities.
Your curious and analytical set of mind enables you to challenge the existing setup
You enjoy working co-operatively in teams as well as independent driving and completing tasks
You need to be structured to manage complex sourcing projects and the many interfaces connected with this role
You are confident to act in an international environment
