IKEA of Sweden, or IoS is responsible for developing the IKEA range and making it available to stores and customers all over the world. IoS is based in Älmhult; the heart of IKEA and the centre of IKEA range development- Expressed in terms of IKEAs three main processes, IoS leads the processes Creating the Home Furnishings Offer and Supplying. We are now searching a new Category Leader within IoS whose main assignment would be to create the category strategy, lead the implementation and support the competence development throughout the organization.

Assignments:
- Develop the category strategy based on the purchase development process and supplying direction (time perspective generally up to 5 years)
- Integrate the material, production, logistic, new technique and industrial design dimension into the range development process at IoS in the category
- Lead the total purchase development throughout the entire category
- Overall responsibility for the sourcing activities
- Actively monitor the external market conditions (like raw-materials, exchange rates etc.) which might have impact on our business
- Define the gaps in needed and existing competence throughout the category.
- Communicate needed competence and gaps throughout the category and support in competence development.

Is this your next challenge?
To be a successful Category Leader we would like you to have experience within purchasing/industry with proven track record. You have good knowledge of the global market and the special advantages of the respective countries as well as good knowledge of industry and its drivers (material, product costing, distribution and production). As a person, you have strong leadership skills and act as a coach motivating others, give clear direction and feedback. You have a strong businessman ship, have a holistic perspective and are good in negotiations. You are communicative, analytical, highly motivated and decisive.
