Job Summary:
As a senior Category Manager, you are responsible for managing global categories (for example Food & Non-Alcoholic Beverages), setting the overall category strategy and driving profitable and innovative long term growth of airline partners retail programs (product / service portfolio, pricing strategy, promotions, etc.). You are accountable for driving the achievement of targets in the team, ensuring budgets are achieved and SPH and MPH is improved across all airline partners and clients.
• Accountable for overall category strategy and development within each specific channel and with each customer to improve performance.
• Accountable for selecting product / service portfolio, optimizing assortments based on passenger profiles to drive SPH and MPH.
• Manage the team’s performance against set KPI’s / objectives and ensure delivery.
• Proactive product research to drive innovation and the passenger’s experience.
• Defining price policies by airline customer.
• Defining promotional strategy by airline customer.
• Responsible for advertising and marketing income, ensuring it is in line with category targets.
• Monitoring and ensuring accurate sales forecasting across the categories.
• Partner with Global Procurement on supplier selection and management.
• Analyse market trends and competition in the market using BI/CI data and own research as appropriate.
• Lead presentations globally to airline partners and new/potential customers using insights to deliver innovative product / service portfolio.
• Ad-hoc category management projects.
Education: relevant university degree or knowledge gained from work experience
Work Experience: minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing the relevant overall category, with a track record of achievements
Technical Skills: Experienced MS Office user, familiar with BI and ERP tools and other business systems
Other Skills:.
• Able to prioritise and act quickly to meet changing business demands
• Excellent understanding of the commercial and consumer requirements of successful category management (eg range / price / promotion management), ensuring delivery of exceptional work to tight deadlines
• Able to build strong relationships with suppliers and customers, as well as other business stakeholders
• Pro-active, solution oriented approach to the role, finding solutions and unblocking issues at senior levels so that the team can work effectively
Language / Communication Skills: fluent English essential, Norweigan languages is an advantage
