Category Manager

ValueOne is looking for a Category Manager with experience from procurement of indirect material to a manufacturing company in Västerås.

The role  

As Category Manager within indirect material, you will develop, plan, and implement global sourcing and procurement strategies and initiatives in collaboration with different stakeholders. You will manage strategic relationships with suppliers, negotiate agreements and renegotiate price lists and conditions. It is possible to work remotely part of the time. 

Main tasks:

 Lead strategic and some tactical activities for the assigned category
Develop and implement category strategies
Manage and develop strategic relationships with suppliers
Negotiate, implement and manage contracts
Perform spend analysis
Initiate and implement cost reduction actions

Experience and competencies  

The ideal candidate for this position should have experience in category management, strategic sorucing or procurement. We prefer if you have an academic degree in Supply Chain Management, Electronics, Mechanics, or other relevant area. You are a skilled communicator and communicate without difficulty in English, both written and verbal. For success in the position good networking and stakeholder management skills is an asset. Analytical skills combined with a structured and process-oriented mindset is preferred. Furthermore, you are a team player who is also able to take on own initiatives and drive activities.
