SAS Strategic Sourcing is a central function in the parent company where the department works in close cooperation with the respective business units. SAS's purchasing organization aims to be the best in its industry and deliver a clear added value to the company. The organization is divided in 3 main Category areas and in this role, you will report to Head of Commercial & Operation.


As a Category Manager you are responsible for developing, anchor and implement strategies as well as driving sourcing projects, i.e. plan, analyze, evaluate, select, negotiate and contract suppliers in line with defined category strategy and in accordance with defined specifications, policies, processes and tools. You will work in close collaboration with SAS Business stakeholder and the decision-making paths up in the organization are short and there is a great opportunity to influence and develop in this role. SAS can offer you a strong professional development and you will gain a wide professional network within the SAS and a great insight to SAS businesses and departments.
Purpose
To optimize and manage the full sourcing need within defined category “Airline Services”.
Lead sourcing activities that strengthen SAS competitiveness and profitability by minimizing total cost while securing the right quality and delivery focusing on sustainability.
Co-ordinate requirements and the supply of needed SAS Ground Equipment; for example fleet management, cost evaluations, financing and sourcing to support SAS Ground Handling at Arlanda, Gardemoen and Copenhagen airport.


Some of the main areas of responsibility and mandate:
Lead Yourself !
Act according to SAS policies, guidelines and instructions.
Overall responsibility for all supplier and sourcing related issues within the defined category.
Drive and set sourcing strategies within the Airline Services category that shall be based on and aligned with the Business Unit strategy and business plans and updated annually.
Optimize the supplier base for your assigned categories to deliver best business value to SAS.
Through Competition continuously challenge contracts and supplier structures.
Support our Business Units by challenging existing setups, supporting and implementing contractual conditions.
Secure that implementation of new contract is managed in a professional way with KPIs and a governance structure for continuous improvements.
Specific assignment to co-ordinate and optimize SAS Ground Equipment’s including fleet management, cost analysis, financing solutions and purchasing projects.
Work in accordance with SAS Lean model.


Experience and Background:
Master of Science or Economics, preferably with a focus on Purchasing or other academic education relevant
At least 5 years experience in purchasing work
Proven of running successful purchasing projects, Contract Management
Highly skilled in analytics and business case presentations
Speak and write English and Swedish fluently
Documented ability to negotiate agreements in English
Experience to work with complicated price structures
Experience from the airline industry is an advantage

As a person, you have a high degree of independence, integrity, personal drive and very good communication skills. You are a strong team player who collaborates and easily integrates in existing teams.
