Job Description
Do you want to develop our procurement organization and contribute to enable the fossil freedom that drives society forward? For our Procurement team Customer & Energy Solutions we are now looking for an experienced and ambitious Category Manager Batteries.
Vattenfall is undergoing a major transformation. Our purpose to power fossil free living requires all time high efforts in decarbonization, digitalization and decentralization at the same time as running a top performance operation.

The opportunity
In order to succeed in the Volatile market technological lead, time to market and cost competitiveness are absolutely crucial. The Category Manager Batteries needs to build engagement and relationships with new supplier markets, understand the roadmap for technical and cost developments and create new and efficient supply chains from battery cells to electric works and installation.
In this role you will report to the Procurement Manager of Central Category Management Customer & Energy Solutions and become a colleague to the Category Managers and strategic buyers within the Central categories Solar, Hydrogen, EV-charging, Marketing & Communication and Finance. The categories are characterized by the need to balance speed & adaptability with Vattenfall global procurement processes and to coordinate supply chains between different Business Areas. The Procurement team is a cross-Business Area, cross-market team with a broad responsibility handling sourcing of hardware to logistics and installation.
As our Category Manager Batteries your main responsibility is to develop the Vattenfall Category Strategy, within Energy Solutions, with key business stakeholders including:
Value creation & saving potentials.
Supply chain options.
New sourcing channels.
Supplier development and innovation.
Capturing synergies across Business Areas/markets/categories.
Develop and execute specific sourcing strategies for components & installations together with Business units.



Qualifications
To be successful in this role we believe you have:
Relevant university degree within engineering, economics, business administration, law etc.
At least 8 years of relevant working experience, including large international sourcing projects, preferable in the renewable energy area, energy sector or heavy industry
Fluency in English (both written and spoken) is required – German is a benefit.

It is meritorious if you have experience from an agile way of working and have the ability to handle a complex organisation. Experience from large, complex, technically advanced projects and sourcing in international highly strategic projects are valuable previous experiences.
