Key role as Category Manager
We are growing and now looking to strengthen our procurement team - supporting our tenders and projects - with a Category Manager in the area of Offshore Installation Services.
As a Category Manager you will play a key role in building our supplier relations, establishing subcontracting strategies and secure most beneficial sourcing contracts. All in line with our overall company strategy and the requirements of projects.
As a Category Manager you will play a key role in subcontracting of installation works. You will be responsible for establishing category strategy, building relations with our suppliers, running procurement process resulting in contracting on the most beneficial terms for the company and successful delivery of NKTs cable system to our customers.
You will support our projects with expert knowledge in the individual sub-categories; market outlook, make or buy, trends, pricing, commercial and legal terms, risks and opportunity’s. Effectively, you will be the partner to the business on sourcing solutions within your category, having the full end-to-end responsibility.
One success factor in this role is to develop long-term relations with our key suppliers - leading to innovative solutions and contract models, ensuring reliable delivery’s, lessons learned, and continuous improvements. In case things go wrong in our execution you are the one knowing the subcontractor from an NKT perspective taking all our dealings into account; tenders, ongoing projects, future opportunities to find the most beneficial outcome for NKT as a whole.
Besides the above your primary responsibilities will be:
* Supplier Relationship Management including supplier ownership
* Category strategy; Market analyse, trends, demand, solution, innovation, footprint, suppliers, etc.
* Finding and screening of new suppliers
* Go to Market, RFQ, clarification, evaluation, negotiation and contracting
You will be a part of our global procurement installation team. Placement could be Karlskrona, Malmö or in Rotterdam. With our market being global, international travel – around 30 days/year - will be part of your daily job. Today our subcontractor footprint is mostly Europe, but as our customer market gets wider so does our supplier base need.
Strong procurement professional with technical acumen
This is a senior, challenging and high-profile role with broad exposure to the organization at all levels. You are therefore expected to possess the needed curiosity, natural authority and strategic procurement skills to engage effectively with the business. Another key to succeed in this role will be to have a structured and goal-oriented mindset together with strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Besides the above your resume comprises:
* M.Sc. degree in Business, Engineering, Economics or similar
* Some years’ experience within procurement as Category Manager or as project manager within construction or installationindustry
* Experience from construction, civil, offshore or building works is strongly meriting as well as skills in ARIBA
* High level proficiency in English - both verbal and written
