About the position
We are currently looking for a skilled and dedicated Category Manager - Transportation (f/m/x) to our Corporate Purchasing organization. This position will be based in Mölndal (Sweden) or Pruszkow (Poland) and will report to Global Purchasing Manager for Services based in Mölndal.
Responsibilities
In this role you will be part of our global international Indirect Purchasing organization and play a key role in improving our productivity and overall business. You will get global responsibility for purchase of transportation at KA, including Road, Air and Sea logistics services. The role presents a unique opportunity to upskill our organization in the area of transportation & logistics by applying your knowledge of best-in-class purchasing practices in the category.
You will be actively engaging and leading global and regional contract negotiations, communicate and cooperate with our suppliers and stakeholders. Other activities include development and implementation of category strategies, identify saving opportunities, and lead the quarterly supplier review meetings.
Specific objectives of the role are:
• Actively manage category spend and drive the cross functional team to identify cost improvement opportunities, and secure implementation.
• Find, implement, and manage preferred suppliers in accordance with business needs.
• Lead the internal cross functional Category Council (CC) - Plan and perform regular meetings with the CC Co-ordinate/align Category Strategy in CC and communicate to all stakeholders.
• Mentor Buyers in the team and/or stakeholders related to the Category.
Requirements
To be successful in this position, the candidate should have a (Bachelor or Master) degree and have significant experience and expertise in working with the category of logistic and transportation. Additionally, we would like to see:
• Strong communication and project management skills in combination with a technical understanding.
• A proactive, goal-oriented and cross-functional approach.
• Strong analytical and technical understanding.
• Result-driven, flexible to travel and can set priorities.
• High degree of personal integrity and confidence.
• Experienced in stakeholder management and motivated to lead global as well as regional negotiations with our suppliers and stakeholders.
• Being a self-going and self-motivated person.
• Flexible and comfortable in a rapidly changing and demanding matrix organization.
• Being fluent in the English language is a must. Other languages such as Polish, French and German are beneficial.
