Who we are in Category Area Indirect Procurement
The Indirect Procurement organisation (Category Area Indirect Procurement) is part of Purchasing Development and has received the assignment to lead indirect procurement across the Inter IKEA Group companies, including all core businesses (Franchise / Supply / Range). Our ambition is to secure the best possible prerequisites for Inter IKEA Group to handle the new world, at the same time fulfilling the future needs of partnership and supplier innovations within Digital, Professional Services and Machinery & Equipment.
Category Machinery & Equipment has more than 7000 suppliers delivering business critical machinery and equipment, including spare parts and services needed to process or produce products intended for sales from development stage to end of life. Main internal stakeholder is Industry, followed by Supply Chain Development & Supply Chain Operation and IKEA Components.
We are now looking to recruit a Category Sourcing Specialist to join our exciting indirect procurement journey! As a Category Sourcing Specialist you will lead sourcing activities and help define the future optimal supply setup.
Job Description
As a Category Sourcing Specialist, you will be responsible for securing the relevant industry, products and services knowledge as well as setting up the optimal sourcing conditions with having stakeholder and business needs always in mind. From that position you will lead and secure that all goods and services within your area of responsibility are sourced with optimal sourcing set-up to achieve efficiencies and cost savings across a technically complex category, which integrates closely with cross-functional stakeholders, particularly within Engineering, Operations and Projects. You will contribute with material, industry and services knowledge in the development process and ensure that materials and services related to cost, capacity, quality and sustainability needs are in-line with stakeholders needs, supplier capabilities and category strategy.


More in detail the assignment consists of:
Establish category sourcing strategies within the framework of the assignment, including scenario planning and assessing sourcing risks
Act as a market intelligence provider regarding categories and segments; anticipate strategic opportunities and keep key stakeholders informed
Create and cultivate strong partnerships with stakeholders and together with them build mid/long term segment plans

· Lead and implement purchase development ways of working and category area/specific category projects
Responsible to develop and implement the optimal value chain, including the demand and goods/service life cycle

· Contribute with identifying the opportunities existing within the optimal value chain and execute the identified Business case
Responsible to for identifying and contributing to the development of the future strategic prioritized partners and lead/support activities to mitigate risk, improve performance and add value to IKEA
Responsible to secure the Business Contingency Planning and to monitor and act on deviations


In this role you will report to Category Manager Machinery & Equipment.

Qualification


To be a successful Category Sourcing Specialist we would like you to have:
· Strong experience and good knowledge in purchasing development including insights on supplier capabilities, strategy development, global sourcing
· Preferably prior experience within Machinery & Equipment/MRO Category
· University degree preferred in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Technology-based field, Business administration or related
· Ability to understand technically complex and/or novel product requirements from engineering departments
· Leadership skills and project leadership experience is an advantage
· Holistic view with being comfortable thinking on both operational, tactical, and strategic level
· Deep knowledge of value chain and value chain analysis capabilities

As a person you are:
· Driven, decisive, analytical
· Great stakeholder manager
· Independent and with excellent communication skills toward various stakeholders
· Strongly business minded, ability to see the big picture and apply different perspectives from customer to supplier perspective
· Able to foresee the consequences of one’s own actions and act based on high moral and ethical principles
· Fluent in English, both spoken and written
