Northvolt has an exciting job offer in the Equipment & Indirect Purchasing Team!
Northvolt Purchasing is a central procurement function serving all entities of Northvolt with strategic and operational aspects of the supply chain.
As the Category Specialist, you will be in charge to define the strategy for our Material Handling Category together with a cross-functional team. You will manage equipment projects across all main Northvolt programmes for all Material Handling scope.

Profile:
In your previous professional work you have collected experience preferable in Investment Purchasing but also first experience working with Material Handling or related categories. You will work in a multi-cultural environment with suppliers and colleagues from all over the world. The work environment requires an enthusiastic problem solver that is adapting flexible to different situations.
Key responsibilities:
Plan and Execute the sourcing strategy for Northvolt's Material Handling Projects as well as running the sourcing process
Lead the negotiation about the price and the contractual setup within your category
You will manage the supplier base for the category, be a key point of contact towards strategic vendors, managing the long-term relationship and the performance of our supply chain.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders from different functional areas, considering each group’s interest, while making unbiased sourcing decision based on the concept of the total cost
Maintain knowledge of market and industry trends within area of expertise and communicate the potential impact on business.
Skills & Requirements
Education/Experience
Bachelor or Master’s degree with preferred focus on Sourcing & Logistics or Engineering, and/or equivalent work experience
At least 3 years of Experience in Purchasing
Experience in working with Material Handling either in a Purchasing or Engineering position
Experience in working within a Multi-Cultural Environment
Experience and interest in the manufacturing industry is a plus
Team player, able to influence and convince other team members and project stakeholders
Fluency in English is required / other language skills are a plus
