The Credit Analyst 3 is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business. Recognized technical authority for an area within the business. Requires basic commercial awareness. There are typically multiple people within the business that provide the same level of subject matter expertise. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Significant impact on the area through complex deliverables. Provides advice and counsel related to the technology or operations of the business. Work impacts an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family.
Responsibilities:
Assesses the adequacy of underwriting, portfolio management, collateral evaluation, and the reliability of asset
classifications and risk rating by conducting individual credit reviews.
Assesses the system of internal controls over the credit function, the status of corrective action on previously identified
weaknesses and the cause of any deficiencies or adverse trends.
Conducts discussions with the relationship managers/loan officers and service officers when additional data for review as required.
Prepares reports on the overall quality of the portfolios reviewed, including assessment of monitoring and proper risk grading.
Prepares work papers that adequately substantiate conclusion reached about each of the individual credits reviewed.
Teams with other Loan Review Officers and the Head of Loan Review to compile a portfolio review summary report for distribution to the senior management and participate any presentations or discussions of the report.
Makes recommendations for process improvements.
Moderate travel will be required (1 to 2 weeks a month)
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.



Qualifications:
6-10 years relevant experience
Expert in loan originations and processes.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
Ability to interact with all levels of managers and associates
Knowledge of Secondary Marketing and Derivative transactions
Proven written/oral communication skills
Advanced Microsoft skills: Excel, PowerPoint, and Word



Education:
Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
