CCB Risk Head for Western Europe

The WE CCB Risk Head will be responsible for all Independent Risk Management activities related to this portfolio, including credit approvals, general portfolio management and regulatory interactions. This position will report directly to the CCB Regional Risk Head (MD). It is expected that the individual will be an integral part of the EMEA CCB Regional Risk team.
Key responsibilities :
• Defines Target Market for the WE CCB portfolio
• Hires the initial Risk coverage team in Western Europe
• Transactions approvals requiring Independent Risk Approvals
• Set up and manage the risk monitoring infrastructure, including EW and Collateral processes
• General portfolio management and risk oversight of processes and portfolio, including Operational Risk
• Provides oversight and approve credit delegations to In-Business Risk and Relationship Managers
• Conduct Post-Loan reviews and Credit Officer evaluations
• Responsible for managing the Risk team, including expense budget discussions
• Conducts and leads portfolio reviews with seniors in region and global levels.
• Manages MCA process and establish strong control environment within the department
• Ensures satisfactory evaluation from internal and external auditors, and FCR.
• Performs customer visits as per call plan
• Participates in global projects to assist CCB Global and Regional Risk offices.
• Ensure local regulatory requirements are met
• Work in close collaboration with the Remedial team, as needed.
Competences / Qualifications:
• Senior Credit Officer, with +15 years’ experience in credit risk management.
• Proven experience in the Wholesale credit markets
• Knowledge of commercial banking products, including derivatives
• Excellent written and verbal presentation skills
• Analytical inquisitiveness, detail orientation and problem solving ability
• Strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills are a must
• Exercises effective people management skills.
• Very adaptive to change and capable of multitasking
• Demonstrated willingness and capabilities to enhance and implement new processes.
• Degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics or related areas. Preferable MBA or equivalent.
This Role is a “Controlled Function” Role as defined by the Central Bank of Ireland Reform Act 2010 and Principal Regulations 2011, and amending Regulations 2014, 2015.
