Create the medicines of the future
We are recruiting a scientist with expertise in tumor biology. Apply today if you thrive in an efficient and multi-disciplinary research environment focused on driving innovative drug projects forward. We give you the opportunity to develop both within and outside of your discipline.
Sprint Bioscience in short
Sprint Bioscience develops small-molecule drugs to fight cancer. With fragment-based drug design methods, advanced technical approaches and leading specialists, we develop the drugs of the future - from the idea stage to a clinical candidate with the goal set at being "First-in-Class".
Our business model is to identify, start and run drug development projects and then license these projects in the preclinical phase to the global pharmaceutical industry. We choose projects with the greatest technical and commercial potential for success.
Sprint Bioscience has had a yearly growth since our start in 2009. Today, we are about 30 committed employees who work closely together in a stimulating environment with cutting-edge methodology and challenging projects. We also collaborate with several academic and external partners from all over the world. We are situated in newly renovated premises in Huddinge - Flemingsberg, 20 minutes by train from Stockholm City.
About the position
You will work in the Tumor Biology and Therapeutics team, which consists of seven cell biologists working closely together, divided into smaller project-specific teams. These smaller groups are dynamic and can change depending on project priorities. As one in the team, you will be involved in one project and will develop and run different cell-based assays to support the medicinal chemistry program. The position is a full-time permanent position.
You will make a difference
You will bring your expertise into a team of dedicated scientists within the areas of medicinal chemistry, protein science, cell biology, and pharmacology.
We would like you to have a solid and documented background in tumor biology and extensive hands-on experience developing cell-based assays. You will be a laboratory-based scientist and substantial expertise in cell culture, flow cytometry, cell-based assays, and standard molecular biology techniques is required.
Previous experience from the pharmaceutical industry is desirable or equivalent experience from academic research, preferentially in a drug discovery setting. A Master's or Ph.D. degree with a strong background in cell biology is required.
Your specific contributions and responsibilities will be to:
· Design, execute and analyze experiments producing high-quality data instrumental to assess the function of candidate drugs and to drive drug discovery projects
· Enable and drive scientific and technical development within the team
· Organize, plan and coordinate your work within the team and across multi-disciplinary project teams
· Help to dissect the mechanism of action of novel therapeutics and contribute to publishing data in peer-reviewed journals
