Cell Design Manager

We are looking for a dedicated Cell Design Manager to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future. The role is a part of our excellent cell design team based in Västerås. By joining us, you will be a key player in establishing and contributing to building one of the first large-scale European battery factories.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Develop advanced Li-ion battery cells for Energy Storage, Electric Vehicles and other applications
Plan, structure and implement design for Li-ion battery cells
Drive and lead internal and external design reviews and structural analysis area as well as include your findings to create better products
Facilitate communication and clarification of technical requirements between customers and Northvolt's internal stakeholders
Introduce and evaluate materials for the improvement of battery life and safety performance.

Skills & Requirements
We believe that you have :
A Bachelor or MSc degree above in engineering
7+ years working experience in cell development
Excellent English written and oral skills
LIB research and design experience required, commercial batteries development experience would be plus
Knowledge of the structure of LIB and have extensive experience in overall activities from material selection to battery design, manufacturing, and evaluation
Understanding the performance requirements of LIB and suggesting various design plans according to the target performance
Broad understanding of LIB materials, cathode/anode active materials, electrolytes, separators, and electrode components
Understanding the required LIB performance and the evaluation method
Knowledge of the LIB manufacturing process, key issues, and ability to solve problems
Lead the team and communicate with team members, and exchange and collaborate within a cross-functional organization
