CEO for the French Corrosion Institute (Institut de la Corrosion)

The French Corrosion Institute has 43 employees on its two sites in France: Brest (French Brittany, headquarters) and Saint- Etienne (South-East France).

We are part of the corrosion department of our mother company RISE located in Sweden and have together a team of around 100 engineers and technicians, which paces us among the largest laboratories in the field of corrosion and corrosion protection of materials in the world. We are recognised as one of the leading corrosion centres by the industry and the scientific community.

The role
We are now looking for a new CEO for the French Corrosion Institute. The institute is a fully owned subsidiary of RISE in Sweden. You will be part of the management group of the corrosion department of RISE, where the decisions regarding strategic orientation and focus areas, staffing, budgeting and investments are made. Together with the head of the corrosion department you will focus on increasing the collaboration between the Swedish and French parts of the department. The location for the position is in France but with some flexibility.

In addition, you are expected to manage IC regarding to set goals which align with RISE strategy, ensure achievements of the goals set-up as well as handling HR, security and legal aspects. You will be managing through subordinate unit managers and/or technical responsible and will be reporting to the manager of RISE corrosion department.

Who are you?
We are looking for a strategic, result-oriented and engaged CEO with leadership experience from management positions. To be successful in the role we believe that you have excellent communication skills and a strong ability to build sound relationships both internally and externally. You have a PhD in Corrosion, or in related technical areas, and you speak English and French fluently. Fluency in a Scandinavian language is meritorious.

You should have the capacity to handle a wide array of tasks and explore new paths of development. Our organization is in constant development and you should have the ability to drive implementation of strategic, cultural and operational initiatives.

The CEO needs to have sound understanding of what the institute needs of competence and tools to deliver on agreed objectives as well as the skill to motivate and further develop a well-performing organization.
