Certification Engineer - China Focus

Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

We now offer an opportunity for a future Certification Engineer who will be the link between R&D and Scania's distributors in the world, with an emphasis on the Chinese market. In the Vehicle Regulations and Standards section, and in the group for Type Approval Support, we create conditions for Scania's distributors to provide products that meet national and international legal requirements.

The requirements for type approving or certifying a vehicle are unique to each country and are constantly changing. We therefore work with legal requirements monitoring together with our distributors, authorities and relevant industry organizations around the world. The information is then used in R&D to be able to start development of new products or introduction of existing products in new markets.

The work takes place in collaboration with design managers throughout R&D, with Sales and Marketing functions at Scania, and together with the certification engineers within Vehicle Regulations and Standards.

Your work assignments

Your duties will include:


• Responsible for type approval support for several markets with a focus on Chinese markets
• Follow and monitor the development of legal requirements for vehicles in these markets
• Together with the certification engineers, analyse the upcoming legal requirements and how they affect Scania in the various markets
• Build and nurture the relationship with Scania's distributors around the world
• Issue technical statements
• Conduct pre-development assignments to meet national legal requirements in collaboration with relevant design groups.

Your profile

You are an engineer with a few years of work experience, preferably within product development, vehicle certification and legal requirements, and have a great interest in the Chinese market.

As a person, you are goal-oriented, outgoing and communicative. You also have the ability to work with problem solving and follow-up while you provide support to the customer.

We expect you to have good language skills in English and Chinese.
