Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.
Do you have the ability to combine an understanding of combustion engines with an understanding of legal requirements, measurement technology, performance, emissions and diagnostics? Do you enjoy working in a broad network?
The Certification and Regulations, Environment team is dedicated to handle topics that arise from emissions, noise and greenhouse gas regulations. The open position concerns engine certification for the complex and demanding US market.
The challenge
Scania and Navistar will have close cooperation regarding engine certification for the US market. Your task will be to establish a new area to coordinate the certification work internally towards Scania R&D and externally towards Navistar’s certification team. Our team already works with US requirements for non-road certification and have certification responsibility for European truck requirements. In your work you will leverage knowledge from both of these areas. The tasks include:
• Legal requirements analysis
Regulatory interpretation together with Scania R&D and Navistar in order to help Navistar be compliant. For instance preparing communication for EPA/CARB and when needed participate in those meetings.
• Certification of engines
You will have an overview of all parts of the emission and OBD applications and know which groups at Scania are responsible for that documentation. You will facilitate gathering of certification information and presentation to Navistar.
Your profile
• To be successful, you need the ability to combine an understanding of combustion engines with an understanding of legal requirements, measurement technology, performance, emissions and diagnostics.
• You have an engineering degree.
• You need to be fluent in English both written and spoken.
• You enjoy working in a broad network both internally and externally. There will be some travelling to the USA in this position
• You are structured, have good coordinating skills and enjoy working both with details and the overall level.
