Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.
The Fluid Mechanics group at Scania Technical Center is now looking for a CFD engineer to join our team in Södertälje.
The group is analytically strong and built up by 7 co-workers. We deliver expertise within the areas of Aerodynamics and Thermal Management for both trucks and buses by advanced technical simulations as well as aerodynamic testing. The work is conducted cross-functionally in an stimulating product-related development environment, in close cooperation with our engineering departments.
Your duties
You will participate in exciting development projects within complete vehicle development, where you will be responsible for problem solving, analysis and proposals for action. The work involves planning and conducting CFD analysis in the area of Thermal Management, covering the whole chain from preparation of CAD data, meshing and solution to analysis of results. Some of the tools you will have at your disposal include the ANSA pre-processor and the CFD software STAR-CCM+. Continuous development of our methods and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy are also an important part of your work.
Your profile
You will have an MSc or equivalent with good knowledge in fluid mechanics and thermodynamics. You will have at least 2 years’ experience in CFD calculations and it is an advantage if you have previous experience of Linux. As a person, you should be organised, quality-conscious and analytical. You have good interpersonal skills and the ability to transfer your technical knowledge in an instructive, easy-to-understand way. Experience of and an interest in vehicle technology would be an advantage.
